About Illustrious Software

Illustrious Software is a partnership, currently consisting of 2 members with a keen interest in computer gaming, and a desire to produce quality games which will appeal to gamers. We started out working on a freeware project while we were at university in Sunderland (the project was a fan remake of the old DOS classic "Master of Magic" - although it was postponed in order to devote more time and energy to our commercial projects, it has since been revived).

We have a wide range of technical skills gained from university and the projects we have worked on. At university we worked largely in C++ and java during our 3 year course. Our Master of Magic project was initially built entirely in Delphi 6, and used DirectDraw for graphics. For various reasons (DirectDraw was too outdated, and we weren't happy with the direction newer versions of the Delphi language and IDE were taking) our current project is written in C# (although it is still based on the Master of Magic code). We are using Visual Studio 2005 and Managed DirectX 9 for graphics.
